In Snowdonia, some of the best days out aren’t just about reaching the summit of Yr Wyddfa—they’re about the ridges that get you there (or away from it).
A ridge is a narrow, elevated line of high ground connecting peaks—basically the spine of a mountain.

A true knife-edge ridge (very narrow with steep drops either side). You’ll be scrambling along sections where hands are essential.

Difficulty: Challenging
A hands-on mountain from the very start—no gentle warm-up here.
More of a sustained scramble than a simple ridge. You’ll be using hands constantly, picking your own route up through rock.

A classic scrambling route that feels adventurous without being overly technical.
